Laura Koppelmann is the multidisciplinary artist behind Art by Koppelmann – her work is rooted in curiosity and a love for detail, with a deep fascination for exploring both the world within us and around us.
Laura’s portfolio is characterized by a quiet yet powerful interplay between form, feeling, and natural nuance. She finds inspiration in everyday details and in the subtle poetry of light, material, and mood.
Art by Koppelmann is an invitation to slow down, look closer, and reconnect with a sense of quiet wonder.
Photography
Through photography, she sheds light on the unseen and often overlooked beauty of this world.
The viewer can’t always define what they are looking at – leaving room to explore what is visible through the eye and what is invisible through imagination.
“With my photography, I hope that the observer discovers new details each time they slow down and explore what they see. Perhaps they create their own stories around what they observe – a little like when we were kids, lying in the grass, watching the clouds, and letting imagination flow in all directions. This is what I hope people will do when they view my artwork.” – Laura Koppelmann
Pottery
Through clay, Laura to explores organic shapes and forms in three dimensions.
Her work captures aesthetics and minimalism, while preserving the freedom to disrupt everything and create without expectations or a plan – inviting the messy parts of creativity and simply be perfectly imperfect.
Most of Laura’s pottery pieces are one-of-a-kind, intended to represent the diversity of the world within us and around us
“What I 100% enjoy the most about this process is allowing inspiration to come through in the now. It’s a practice that keeps my mind sharp, focused, and flexible – which is something I generally appreciate in life.” – Laura Koppelmann
Originally from Kiel in northern Germany, Laura grew up within the Danish minority and attended Danish schools in Schleswig-Holstein. Her strong cultural connection eventually led her to Denmark, which she has called home for over a decade. With a background that spans engineering and the performing arts, she brings both structure and playfulness to her creative work – an approach that culminates in the pieces she now shares with you.
